An event titled “DiplomatiCareer: The Representation of Foreign Affairs” was held in cooperation with the Career Center Coordinatorship and the Public Diplomacy Student Club.
The guest speaker of the program, which drew great interest at the Conference Hall of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, was Ambassador Dr. Ayşe Sözen Usluer, the Istanbul Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Providing information on the dominant approaches in Turkish Foreign Policy during her presentation, Usluer gave specific examples of Türkiye’s principled stance against global crises, especially over the last quarter of a century.
Touching upon the level of influence that Turkish Foreign Policy has achieved today, Ambassador Dr. Usluer emphasized that the greatest factor supporting this is undoubtedly qualified human resources, and underlined the essential points our students should consider for successful career planning.
Deputy Istanbul Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mehmet Zahit Uzun, who delivered a presentation on the organizational structure of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, provided comprehensive information on career opportunities within the Ministry and shared details regarding the steps of a diplomatic career.
The event, attended by our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Kurban, our Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pınar Özden Cankara, the Head of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yavuz Cankara, and our faculty members, concluded with a group photo session following a Q&A session with our students and the presentation of Certificates of Appreciation.
